Self–installation is only $9.99. User receives Qwest DSL modem, four filters for analog telephone jacks (more are available, if necessary), network cables and self-installation manual. Qwest modems have router capabilities and support static and dynamic IP addresses. Modems have one Ethernet and one USB port; some models also offer Wi-Fi capability, which may require additional computer equipment. Qwest DSL self-installation is only recommended for customers who are comfortable connecting computer cables and installing simple computer programs. Qwest DSL self-installation will take anywhere from 20-40 minutes to complete.

Professional installation is only $59.99. A trained broadband installation technician will come to your house to install your Qwest DSL modem, hook it to your computer, and verify your internet connection. Qwest DSL installation technicians can also network multiple computers correctly to ensure more than one person can access your Qwest DSL internet at one time and set up a primary e-mail address.

Non-Qwest DSL modems may or may not work on the Qwest network. Professional installation and technical support may not be available for users with non-Qwest modems. It is recommended that customers purchase a Qwest DSL modem to ensure proper service.

To subscribe to Qwest Connect a PC with at least the following is required:

• Windows Vista, Window XP, Windows 2000 SP2, Windows Millennium, or Windows 98. Qwest Connect does not support Macintosh computers at this time..
